About

Dear colleagues!

We are glad to inform you that a new electronic periodical ‘Medical Anthropology and Bioethics’ (Эл № ФС77-39035) has been registered in Russia. This is the first international e-journal of scientific, educational and popular science profile aimed at the above-mentioned themes in our country. Its founder is the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology named after N.N. Miklukho-Maklai of the Russian Academy of Sciences. (119991 Moscow, Leninsky prospect, 32 А).

Our e-journal is issued in two languages: Russian and English (original texts to be published in Russian or English with either a complete translation or a detailed summary in the second language). We are planning to release 2 pilot volumes, and then gradually increase the number to 4 volumes per year.

We are looking to cooperate with an interdisciplinary range of specialists studying issues related to Medical Anthropology/Ethnology and Bioethics.

The target of our e-journal is to unite scientists interested in Medical Anthropology and Bioethics, new academic fields rapidly growing in our country, and to help Russian and foreign specialists to exchange information, establish necessary academic contacts, and organize joint research. Coverage of the most important problems regarding the indicated areas based on Russian and foreign data is seen as one of the key goals of our e-journal.
Large volumes of photo, audio and video materials as well as a possibility to launch extensive on-line discussions at forums are seen as crucial benefits of the Internet-based format of our new e-journal. A paper (supplementary) version of the periodical is not being considered at the moment; yet, paper reprints of the articles in other publications of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the RAS (Russian Academy of Sciences) are possible. Optionally, the authors may reprint their texts in other paper editions with a required reference to our Internet-resource.
