Abstract: The article is devoted to the study of traditional medicine of cultures of ancient Western Mexico, in particular the Tarascans. The main sources of research are famous ceramics of Western Mexico (how medical knowledge is reflected in the ceramics), as well accounts of missionaries. The article highlights the idea of​​ similarity of ancient medicine of cultures of Western Mexico with those of the Aztecs, the connection between medicine and magic typical of ancient cultures.
