Abstract. The figure of a specialist who makes it possible to adjust the interaction between a doctor and a patient, taking into account the cultural specifics of their medical experience, is actively in demand in the modern polycultural world.
The work is devoted to a socio-cultural study of the medical experience that has developed in Russian culture, taking into account its historical and cultural retrospect and possible changes. The research methodology is the social phenomenology of A. Schutz, which makes it possible to analyze the life worlds of informants, revealing intersubjective meanings.
The analysis of empirical material confirms the presence of cultural constants in the field of everyday medical experience. At the same time, the changing external conditions of life, especially the situation with the pandemic, contributed to its significant transformations. There are not only “intergenerational” shifts, but also changes in the medical experience of modern reflective Russians in general.
