Abstract: The authors make a short overview of the relationship between the doctor, patient and disease throughout the days of ancient healing practices to the present day, making important conclusions on the basis of these reflexions.
Since the days of ancient healing practices to the present day, the relationship between the doctor, patient and disease remain simple. Initially, the physician is often identified with the disease. It was thought that being in a “conspiracy” disease “dedicated” the doctor is able not only to heal, but also cause diseases. The patient, a man possessed ailment as often equated with the actions of lower spirits more than self.
Christianity transformed his teaching medicine from a private priesthood certain gods in the service not only to man, but the living God, and therefore the cause of healing, not only human flesh, but of the human soul, over which now has the power to blind fate.
Sacrifice, and resurrection of Christ, as the fact that the Apostles the name of Christ healed the sick, completely changes the vector of the mystical to the doctor in the Christian world. Now the doctor has the power over sickness and death, not because of his “relationship”, with them, but miraculously sacrifice and resurrection of the living God. Earlier slogan sounded Hippocrates’ Do no harm “, now it is replaced by the words of the Apostle Luke:” Physician, heal yourself first. “The doctor and the patient becomes a person, equal before God and the disease.
The disease is regarded as a deformation of the body appears as a phenomenon of consciousness – its experience, perception, assessment. The word “disease” refers to the “pain”, which is already used as a metaphor to describe the state of mind. The disease is seen as a matter of science, including the theory, description, facts. Disease – a condition under study in the Institute of Medicine, both scientific and hospital. The disease is seen as something constituted by the isolated and based on social, economic, cultural, moral norms and assumptions.
The souls of men, as well as their bodies, destroy modern civilization. Individualism, disunity generate deficits interpersonal communication. Space and rest are segmented, become “job” or “apartment in a residential area” – a refuge urban individualist.
If we can talk about the decline of companionship in a degradation of collective spaces, regarding individual care of the soul, on the contrary – the flowering. Psychoanalysis is treated as a defense mechanism in response to the various neurotics and psychotics. Created a wide market for which a person with deviant behavior are consumers, providing demand. At a time when the police interested in increasing the criminal elements, and medicine – in the presence of paid sick, can’t cope with crime and disease.
Dualism of nature and the nature of the human disease, their intractable conflict is understood only as the idea of controlling the disease, but do not like the idea of challenging the joint struggle for the physician and the patient to return to the patient self-esteem and lost self-esteem. Care of the patient – the process of mutual and often painful, not just associated with overcoming mutual prejudices, but also with the “liberation” of the physician, tormented suffering patient. Oddly enough, the cure or alleviation of suffering does not guarantee a doctor of grateful patients, evaluating its performance prejudiced or fettered by fear and mistrust.
What do not we had this odd trio: the patient, the disease, the doctor – in whatever clothes she no busking (the skin of the shamanic dress, shabby clothes of the saint, a pagan idol mask plague doctor or modern white robe), you should always remember that going to the doctor, we are entering a long battle for themselves.
